Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs

Yuuna and the haunted Hot Springs can be categorized as edgy anime as there are a lot of fan service and the elements of anime that are usually seen in harem anime. A lot of people do not like these elements but Yuuna and the haunted Hot Springs is a little different from all the typical ecchi anime due to its intriguing cast and heartwarming scenes that makes their relationship deeper.

Heartwarming an edgy sounds like a weird combination and it did get some criticism the cause of its sexual content on shounen jump and although there are a lot of nudity in this anime including big breast nonsensical Sexual jokes the anime is not merely focused on this sexual content. The fan service it’s mostly use as a joke as the anime revolves around a guy moving in a hot spring there a bunch of girls stays for bath.

Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs

This can be an alarming situation for them but Kogarashi is not a pervert but a decent Haram protagonist. He just ends up in a compromising situation which are always unintentional and it’s not like he want to be in that situation. Therefore he is my favorite character in the anime And the kind of guy you will root for with every girl that you like as he is not just a likable character but a nice guy who offers help to all the girls with problems.

The episodes are not just entertaining but every episode introduces some really interesting character with a lot of interesting details. So the anime does not just focus on Kogarashi and Yuuna but other characters as well. For instance clothes eating yokai that Ninja girl meets. It may sound typical ecchi but it actually reveals her powerful ability. The moment where Kogarashi says that he is good at grilling fish in front of yaya who is possessed by cat God was quite hilarious. Other hilarious moments include when the alcoholic Ninja tells Kogarashi that she is a mangaka and makes him her assistant when her staff is not available due to sick leave.

Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs

Among all these eccentric character Yuuna is the most highlighted and favorite character and the chemistry between her and Kogarashi is quite good as their relationship gets deeper as they get caught up in some weirded situations.  She quite silly and tends to misunderstand things that becomes problematic for Kogarashi as she always put blame on him Regardless of his intention of passing through the River in the morning or passing out in the river. It’s all entertaining to watch.

Although the series is very entertaining in the first half, the second half is not that good and you might lose interest due to lack of all the peculiar things that you watched in the first half as the second half is filled with some cliché things that are typical and very common in anime. One of these episodes include the one where Yuuna is abducted by the water dragon and he takes advantage of her by making her wear her some suggestive costumes. It was not something entertaining or interesting at all except for the fight that took place between the water dragon’s subordinate Oboro and Kogarashi.

Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs

The anime has been directed by Tsuyoshi Nagasawa and animated by Xebec. The series might not be extraordinary when it comes to animation but if compared to anime of this sort, it quite good.  It’s lively and have vibrant colors. The character design is as good as the characters themselves as they suit well to their respective characters in terms of personality.

Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs

All in all Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs is a wholesome romantic anime with the elements of ecchi in it that serves as comedic relief. It’s filled with many eccentric characters and some very entertaining moments. Anyone who is fond of harem and ecchi should definitely watch this but those who are not much into ecchi will also like it because of its characters and heartwarming moments. Even if it got a little boring halfway, I would recommend it.
