The recent chapter of The Promised Neverland is quite horrifying in many ways. The chapter starts with young Mujiko who is explored to have a peculiar power. No matter who she has feed on, she doesn’t transform. She is capable of retaining her wit and her appearance as it is, even if she doesn’t feed on human meat. It’s a worrisome matter for all demons as they starvation makes them lose their form and their appearance. This unique ability let her see the world differently and as she ran away to keep herself away from exploitation of her abilities, she start realizing the essence of being unique.
Moving forward to page 4, we return to intensifying battle with Sonju against the queen. Mujika intrudes the battle, questioning about the queen’s hunger for more even though she is devouring more than she needs. She also feels sorry for her unquenchable desire to feed. After this we have shocker, the queen who seems alive, is truly dead. She retained her form because of the second core, she devoured deceased which were poisoned and she had consumed massive amount of individuals. She tried to depict that she is not dead as Mujika states but we started to witness many different demons and forms being released from the queen’s form yelling out their names. The queen’s body started to rupture into a form of goo and Mujika says a final goodbye to the queen while stating she will change the world. At the end, the queen is dead and from this point our heroes will be capable of think about their next move. Looks like, we are getting close to the last pages of this wonderful manga. Let’s discuss further about this chapter while it’s still in continuation.
Without any doubt Mujika seemed a different demon but this chapter of Promised Neverland has given the reason for her uniqueness. Mujika doesn’t need to devour human meat to avoid changing form, like other demons and this can be possible for other demons. Will Mujika be able to expand the gift that can put other demons in less danger? We will have to wait for the next chapter to know that.
