On Thursday, Viz Media’s Shonen Jump Twitter account revealed that the service would publish in English the manga of Yusei Matsui’s Nigejozu no Wakagimi (The Young Lord Who is Skilled at Escaping). On Sunday, the series will be launched.
The manga is also set to debut on January 25 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. In its first chapter, it will have 52 pages, including an opening color page, and the manga will also appear on the eighth issue’s cover. The “escaping historical fact story” focuses on a hero who is now forgotten and has been lost to history.
Matsui worked as Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo manga designer Yoshio Sawai and debuted in the Weekly Shonen Jump in 2005 his 23-volume Neuro – Supernatural Detective Manga. In 2007-2008, the manga inspired a 25-episode television anime series, and in 2011, Viz Media started streaming the series.
In 2012, Matsui then released Assassination Classroom, and ended the series with 21 volumes in March 2016. In English, Viz Media released the manga. A 22-episode television anime series was inspired by the manga in 2015, and the 25-episode second season of the show premiered in 2016. Both series were streamed by Funimation and released on home video.
In 2015 and 2016, the manga also inspired the Assassination Classroom: animation movies in 365 days and films in two live acts. The Quest of Koro Sensei! A net anime film and an anime film were both influenced by spinoff mangas.
