This Weekend Funimation Streams Movie Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl

On Monday it was declared by Funimation that for a limited time period it is going to telecast the anime movie Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl inspired by the light novel series Seishun Buta Yarō by Hajime Kamoshida which will began from April 17, Friday at sharp 4:00 p.m. ET and will last till April 20, Monday at 4:00 p.m. ET.

Last year on October 2 and 3 the anime was screened by Aniplex of America and Funimation Films in United States and on October 4 and 5 in Canada. Last year on July 7 the United States debut of the movie was screened by Aniplex of America at the Anime Expo. Later this year on June 30 the movie is going to be set out by Aniplex of America on Blu-ray Disc in North America.

Last June the movie was released in Japan and got the 7th position in its starting week. The movie generated an aggregate of 373,520,090 yen.

The story of the movie was explained by Aniplex of America in the following manner:

In Fujiwara, where the skies are brilliant and the oceans sparkle, Sakuta Azusagawa is in his second year of secondary school. His happy days with his sweetheart and upperclassman, Mai Sakurajima, are hindered with the presence of his first pound, Shoko Makinohara. For no good reason, he experiences two Shokos: one in center school and another who has gotten a grown-up.

As Sakuta winds up defenselessly living with Shoko, the grown-up Shoko drives him around by the nose, causing an immense break in his relationship with Mai.

Amidst this, he finds that the center school Shoko is experiencing a grave sickness and his scar starts to throb.

The movie includes a recurring cast and crew members, consisting of Sōichi Masui as director, Masahiro Yokotani as scriptwriter, Satomi Tamura as character designer, fox capture plan as musical composer, and CloverWorks as animation production studio.

The 6th Seishun Buta Yarō wa Yume-Miru Shōjo no Yume wo Minai and 7th Seishun Buta Yarō wa Hatsukoi Shōjo no Yume wo Minai volumes of the light novel has been adapted by the movie.
