Most part of the anime focuses on the democracy and dictatorship of Alliance and Empire respectively. While season 2 focuses on the nature of both democracy and dictatorship. Throughout the season we explore the negative and positive sides of both democracy and dictatorship. In democracy, where the people in power are voted by the general public, the changes occur gradually and most of the time the elected bureaucrats benefits themselves from it rather than making people happy. Dictatorship is infamous because of Hitler but if the dictator is sincere and loyal to his people like Reinhard then there is possibility that the people would be served in the right way as there would not be any interruption from any other governmental branches that could make things slow and sometime do not let them happen.

Although it is regardless and doesn’t matter but it is worth mentioning that some very important scenes in Seran are much better than the original series (1988-1997). Two best moments of the series that out shadowed the original scenes are when Kirchies visits Iserlohn Fortress for the exchange of POWs with Alliance and the other is the death scene of Kirchies while saving Reinhard. The original series didn’t gave much importance to these two major scenes as it was not shown in a big setting. But Seiran give a large setting to both scenes according to the importance and significance of these two events. Everything as perfectly balanced including the lighting, angle location that complement the significance of these scenes.

Friendship is one of the major focus in this season as emphasize on the internal matter more closely. The bond between Kirchies and Reinhard is given much importance in this installment of the franchise. When Kirchies does not obey Reinhard for saving the planet form the nuclear attack, he lost all his significant privileges. One of those privilege was the firearm that he could bring at the Imperial establishment. But Kirchies showed his loyalty by saving Reinhard from killed even without firearm. It was realized by everyone including Reinhard himself that Kirchies was not just a friend but an important part of his life that can’t be replaced.

To watch the Seran the new comers will have to watch the first season as this continues that and without watching it from the beginning it will be hard to grab the story. Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu is the story that is connected from the start till end. Viewers who start from this season won’t be able to understand the story, language, plot characters and their bond with each other.

Seran has ended but things seems incomplete and there is still no news regarding the third season considering the fact that we came to know about the airing of this season when the first season as being aired. The fans won’t be happy if this is the final end of Die Neue These. We can watch the original series to know the whole story or for the satisfaction but the remake is better than the original in many ways especially when it comes to the technology and animation (it won’t be appealing to see old fashioned computers and floppy discs in the anime set in the future). We admit that the original has its own class but the remake is more attractive for both the new and old fans. The story should be completed in the remake as well to satisfy both old and new fans.

Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu is one of the best anime when it comes to Science Fiction. It has the potential to change the perspectives of viewers regarding politics and think differently. It gives knowledge regarding the good and bad sides of the democracy as well dictatorship and open our minds towards something we never thought about. It’s not necessary that democracy is good for people just because it is the choice of people. Likewise dictatorship is not necessarily bad because it is ruled by one person. It is recommended for being a very knowledgeable series that answers many questions.
