Somali to Mori no Kamisama Episode 11: Review

Thankfully, Yabashira is not dead as I was expecting something bad  will occur but that does not mean that this episode was not any less painful and scary. How can this show be so cruel? The first half was so sweet and heartwarming that actually made me wanting for more of that. It made me smile, laugh, and feel so relaxed. But we all know when some moments are filled with so much happiness, love and joy then it is the indication those smiles and happy faces are going to be turned into something completely different. But the way they did in this series was terrifying and depressing that it actually made us cry. And seems like the happiness has ended and this is just the beginning of the sadness and heart wrenching moments that we are about to see in this series. I never expected a happy ending but now I’m starting to think that something really bad will happen in the end.

The first half episode was very sweet and adorable. Golem and Somali made souffle and it was a treat to watch them doing it together and probably the best part of the show. The entire scene was filled with warmth and love. When Golem and Yabashira were done with their last duty as bodyguards, they were going back but Golem stopped by to buy some clothes for Somali. I was so happy to see him looking for such things for Somali and I liked how considerate he his as he decided to buy her armor for her safety. He acted like those kind of fathers who want to give something nice and cute for their daughters but at the same time also want then to be safe and protect the, from cruel eyes. As Yabashira mentioned, he seems really nice when he acts like a father. Hey reach the house and Somali gives him the bracelet, she made for him while Golem also bought bracelet for her. Both bracelet looked same. He says Thanks to her while she is happy to get a gift from her dad. After that they all play with snow. They make snowman and have snow fight. They mad two snowmen, one looks like Somali and the other looks like Golem and Goelm is actually part of all this cute act. It was so adorable!! In this scene we can clearly see the change in Golem and how much he has developed. He was so much emotionless back when the show started and we can’t even think of that Golem playing with and making snowmen as for him it is useless and waste of energy and despite of being close to Somali, he never showed his emotions and love for her and now he does not hesitate to buy a gift for without any reason. He always bought things for her that she needed like medicine but now he bought bracelet for her which was useless for him but he know that it shows his love for her. With the passage of time he has not just gotten closer to her but also has developed many emotions like sadness, happiness, fear and even anger.

But that lovely emotions that we experienced in the first half of the episode ended quickly as the human killing creatures reached the house. Yabashira comes to know that Somali is human and initially he seemed reluctant but immediately changes his mind and stayed in the house to help them escape. They went out through the tunnel that Aunt Rosa mentioned about but the problem is that she is to be blame for this in the first place. And why would they think she can know about them leaving since Golem told her they won’t be leaving before the morning.

It was so painful to watch Somali being grabbed by those creatures especially when she screamed. It was not just painful but even made my eyes full of tears. Inori Minase has done a great job with her role as Somali. As I mentioned earlier it was painful to watch what those hunters did to Somali. It was quite disturbing to see those creatures with hatchets grabbing a little child and pinning her while she was scared and sobbing and looking for her dad. I was angry while watching this. I have also mentioned this many times but both humans and creatures are horrible in this series. They don’t need to hold grudges against each other or fight against each other and neither have they to be so vicious to each other. They all are same and. It’s just the matter of good and bad. How ca be a small kid threatening to them. It’s pointless to let out their hatred for humans on an innocent little girl who has nothing to do this with this fight. Thankfully there are still some creatures left in this world who have not lost the sense of right and wrong in this battle. Shizuno is one of them. Watching Golem’s body disintegrating was as painful as Somali screaming. His arm got broken and his eyes were red which seems like a bad sign too. I understand that he is angry and preparing himself to fight with those creatures but it felt bad. If his anger is uncontrollable and he keeps breaking his body parts, it might shorten his life span which is already short. Or probably just damaging his body like that would make him suffer and he will die. He has already caused too much damage to his body and has completely broken one arm. This does not feel right and I have to get myself ready for more pain suffering. No cute scenes anymore.

I just don’t want any of them to die and a happy ending for all of them. I wish I could get to watch more scenes like I the previous episode and in the first half of this episode. I can’t see Somali crying and Golem in rage. I want happiness for them.
