Snow White with the Red Hair has reached to Volume 8. Things have been a little repetitive uptil now and we have yet to see some new content and this volume has brought something new with the beginning of new arc. In this article will be reviewing Volume of 8 of Snow White with the Red Hair
The Volume 8 starts with Shirayuki and Zen discussing about their relationship and their future with each other and Zen claims that he will show Shirayuki the world in the future. Now that they realize their position, they can move ahead paving the way for their place in the world.
After having this discussion, they are headed to see off Sakaki who is in the castle. But to the heavy rainfall, they decide to stay at an inn to spend the night. While their stay at the inn, the meet someone who is familiar to obi and offers him a job.
This old friend of Obi’s, named Torou is following a child who has escaped his home. Some mercenary hired her in order to locate him and bring him back home. Since she has found his location, she is headed to that place and asks Obi to accompany her in this mission. He quickly agrees and while he is out with her, he comes to realize how far he has come since the time he met Zen and Shirayuki.
Obi seems to have changed a lot since the beginning of the series. He is not as hot-headed as he used to be earlier in the series and now all he thinks about is to devote his life in serving Zen. There are some very obvious hints about his feelings for Shirayuki that seems to develop as they spend more time together and it seems like this will become a problem in the future.
Working with an old friend Torou made him and the viewers realize how much he has developed as a character. Although the series has been criticized for the repetitive story line, I would admit that the character development is worth admiring and mangaka has done a great job on writing these character in such a detailed manner.
As I stated earlier in this article the Volume 8 of Snow White with the Red Hair has something new to offer. The last chapter of this Volume we Shirayuki and Ryu going to Lilias to see why they haven’t been receiving herbalist reports. We didn’t see this happening in the anime and looks like the sequence of the manga has been rearranged in the anime.
The trip to Lilias is going to be a major arc in the series and Volume 8 is great in terms of something new. Those who stopped reading due to the repetition of the storyline should pick it up from Volume 8. There is a lot to look forward in the next Volume in terms of character development especially in case of Ryu as he hasn’t been given much focus in the series.
VIZ Media has brought Volume 8 of Snow White with the Red Hair in West and like the previous volumes, it has been translated by Caleb Cook and the translation seems to have no issue. There are also some illustrations as extras.
All in all, Volume 8 of Snow White with the Red Hair mainly focus on obi and throws some light on his character development. The next arc is going to be something new for the anime fans as well as it hasn’t been covered in the anime adaptation. So both manga and anime fans have something new to look forward in the series.
