On Friday it was disclosed by the authorized website of Benesse Corporation’s Shimajirō anime franchise that a new anime movie is going to be made of the project named Shimajirō to Sora Tobu Fune. It is the first 3D CG anime movie of the project and on 28 February it will be released.
The story of the movie revolves around a discoverer squirrel named Jin who lives in a place called Greenwood a place away from the sea. From a long time Greenwood had no rain and to resolve this big issue of the land Jin makes up a plan to construct a flying ship in order to make rain fall over the Greenwood and for that he seeks Shimajirō’s aid.
The movie is going to be directed by Takamitsu Kawamura along with the script of Masafumi Sugiura.
The cast consisits of Omi Minami, Miki Takahashi, Takumi Yamazaki, Saori Sugimoto, and Minoru Inaba.
From 1993 to 2008 the anime Shima Shima Tora no Shimajirou was telecast in Japan. From 2008 to 2010 the follow up Hakken Taiken Daisuki! Shimajirō was telecast and from April 2010 to March 2012 it was continued under the name Shimajirō Hesoka. In 2012 the anime Shimajirō no Wow! And different series were broadcast. And in October 2015 it was nominated in the category of animation of the International Emmy Kids Awards. In March 2018 the 1st full length movie named Eiga Shimajirō: Mahō no Shima no Daibōken of the ovie was released in Japan. On March 15 another movie was released.
