Runway de Waratte Episode 2: Review

This episode heavily focused on Tsumura. It was all about Tumura’s emotions and how he feels. There were many emotions involved in this particular episode and all were related to Tsumura. Last episode was just the introduction of him while Chiyuki was the focus of the episode. He seemed like a character with low self-confidence and next to the main character. Probably that is somewhat true. In that prologue it was just him and that is how he was introduced but now there is Chiyuki with him who will not let him give up even I there is no chance of getting victory. She will keep motivating him.

Although the anime has just been started and it’s only episode 2 but one thing really good about his character is that he is relateable in a sense that he has no knowledge of fashion industry. We all know that it is tough but we have no idea about the technicalities. We don’t know about the internal problems and process regarding the agencies, models and other things. Tsumuru has no idea either. He never thought to have a practical exposure of this industry even if he dreams about it. Hi position is not same as Chiyuki. He had never thought to make sewing clothes, his career and planned to have a ‘real career’ to earn money for his family. This episode was about Tsumuru learning how things work in fashion industry

Runway de Waratte Episode 2: Review

I like how it showed Tsumura having ad losing self-confidence. Chiyuki is strong willed and know what she wants in her life and it’s her self-confidence that will help her achieve her dream. Tsumura on the other hand is yet to understand that. I’m glad that he find the right opportunity and in no time Chiyuki came to know Tsumura and now she wants him to work for his father. Tsumura is very much relatable as he keeps getting nervous and confused about his career path and whether or not he has made the right decision. At one point he is positive and then at another point he becomes nervous. It’s hard to decide whether it is the right decision to turn our hobbies into career. Will it be a successful career or not?

As far as the episode goes, it was really good. O much was covered in 24 minutes episode. It started from the point it ended in episode 1 and he covered up for Chiyuki. I like what he said regarding not letting her get hurt as she is his source of inspiration. But later he didn’t like getting the dress back from her that he stitched. Although her intention were not wrong but still he could be nice to him. I’m not sure if that is going to be motivating for him. Maybe, but that was really rude. Then comes the important thing which was Tsumura’s job. He has been sent to work with a former fashion designer of Millie Niege by Chiyuki’s father. But he didn’t let them know that he is a high school student with no proper training or experience. He realizes quickly that it is not become a designer as he sees the hardships of other employees and how they struggle. His boss is really scary. I don’t if that’s how he is or he has to be like this because of the pressure and stress. But, it doesn’t matter it’s going to be really hard for Tsumura.

But the stressful part doesn’t end there. A very significant event is just around the corner and they don’t have a model and now they have to work with short height model. Moreover. One of their good employee fainted and it was the time when she was needed the most. Is it a good chance for Tsumura to prove himself? I’m excited about the next episode but at the same time I’m also worried.
