It centres on Anzu Hoshino, a young teen girl who, in contrast to normal teenage females, has zero interest in romance. She would rather indulge in chocolate, interact with her pet cat, and play video games. But when a mythical matchmaker named Riri materialises from her television screen and commands her to participate in a dating sim reality in which she must find love with one of the “ikemen” men introduced into her life, her entire world is turned upside down. Anzu’s three greatest loves—chocolate, her cat, and video games—must be sacrificed while she is in the changed world, which is the worst part.

Netflix has not yet declared whether or not there will be a second season as of March 23, 2023. Since the premiere of the first season around five months ago, there have been no more developments regarding the show’s future. Despite the disappointing news, we remain optimistic that Netflix will order a second season of Romantic Killer.
Anime on Netflix don’t often earn immediate renewals. So often, the streaming juggernaut waits a while before making a decision and making it public. So hold on to your resolve. I mean, it seems like the first season was well received by both critics and audiences, so I can’t imagine Netflix turning down a second season.
Additionally, the first season finishes in a way that anticipates the second. Anzu learns that her three favourite things would be taken away permanently if she doesn’t find love by the end of the school term. It appears like Anzu will be vying for the love of three men—Tsukasa, Junta, and Rio—now that Tsukasa has realised that he has feelings for her. Not to mention the closing moment of the first season finale, in which Kate the magician learns that Yukana is a part of her new job. Has Yukana have a chance of falling in love?
