RobiHachi- Episode 10 Review: “Never Get Involved in a Buddies Quarrel”

Introduction:

At last, after watching tourists wander aimlessly around the planets in outer space in the last nine episodes, Hachi and Robi are finally on the highway. They are headed towards “Isekandar”, which is their final destination. Am I the only one whose getting a feeling like this is going to end in a disaster?

Storyline:

In the start we see Ikky and guys travelling in space and they have come very close to the last checkpoint of Iskandar. But something seems fishy from the start. Robi starts having a flashback, and I am left wondering that if this turns out to be a flashback episode then I might end up punching the screen. However, we get to see Robi fantasizing about having his ears cleaned by a white woman wearing a kimono. Luckily, he spares us from his bizarre imagination and decides to get some rest instead. But then he is woken up by Hatchi to let him know that they would not be able to get through customs, because Robi was a debtor and also a fugitive. Hatchi is in a bad mood because of this and they both start arguing and pointing fingers at each other. The fight was also as a result of being locked up in the spaceship for the past couple of days. The fight escalates and they start arguing about petty things, like each other’s bathroom etiquettes, Robi’s snoring and his sex toy and porn collection, the laundry, stealing food from the fridge, Hachi’s sneezing style, online shopping habit and use of candies, etc…Quite usual and petty arguments that flat mates have. Eventually, they decide to call it quits, on the understanding that they would never talk to each other again. Like alpha males, they even mark their territory in the spacecraft with spray paint, dividing the space craft between themselves. Meanwhile, Mr Yang along with his minions, are hoping that Robi is arrested, as they munch on sukiyaki at some kind of beef planets.

The petty behavior of Hatchi and Robi continues for some time. Robi seems to have the upper hand, as the fridge is situated in his territory in the spaceship. Hatchi has to sneak in his territory to eat, while Robi keeps stealing his food. Ikku is stuck in the middle because of this situation and roams around the spaceship watching all the drama unfold. It hurts to watch Ikku suffer like that.  I loved watching fabulous Mr Yang eating dinner, which he did, while he also did some sightseeing. The whole drama between Hatchi and Robi ended up with Hatchi lighting the spaceship on fire, declaring that his favourite pyjamas are the ones that Robi has and Ikku struggling like a fireman to put out the fire. On a positive note, they decide to stop quarrelling and compromise. I was convinced after watching this that I was watching a classic shounen anime. To make up, Hatchi secretly pays off Robi’s debt and Robi has no knowledge of it. Consequently, they make it through the last Isekandar checkpoint and the credit for that goes to Hatchi.

However, when everything seems to be going in their favour, it turns out that Hatchi has some trouble from his past chasing him. There are some lunar people that are chasing him now and we will have to wait till the next episode to find out what happens next.
