We have watched many idol anime with various topics, concepts, stories and genera. Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu follows the same story which focuses on Erpiyo who is a devoted fan of an idol member, named Maina who is not very popular and is the part of an underground band. Eripiyo’s free time and all money is spent on this idol which include purchasing concert or event tickets, CDs, merchandise just to level up her rank in the idol charts. Eripiya is fond of Maina to the extent that she has only one tracksuit that she wears all the time to as she has to save money on her idol rather than buying new clothes. She also reached to that extreme point of her obsession that she even considers selling her organs. That’s why Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu is a very intriguing anime about a fan who will do anything for her favorite idol without even being noticed. So I’ll be discussing more reasons, why watch Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu is recommended to all the anime fans especially to those who like idol anime.
The protagonist of this anime is not the idol but the obsessive fan who goose beyond the limits to show her support for her favorite idol in any way she can. Appearance wise, Eripiyo is good looking with above average height who is not like other otaku fans who mostly shows as fat, unattractive in the anime. Eripiyo has no life of her own. All she lives for since the time he get to know about Maina, she has devoted herself to support an idol who is not even a popular idol of an underground group called ChamJam. Eripiyo has no interest in anything that other girls have like fashion, dressing. She doesn’t even care about her heath and spends all her money on the goods of regarding her idol. She never misses her chance to buy the ticket of the handshake events and post as many positive comments as she can to increase the online engagement about Maina. She also never misses the chance to buy every single limited edition of Mina’s merchandise and does everything she can to be the first one to buy that. Her obsession for Maina is at the extreme level and whatever she does to support her is beyond the limits. For her there is no difference between fondness and obsession. What is the reason that she is so much dedicated to this ordinary idol. Does she love her? Even she is not sure about that because there is a very basic rule regarding following an idol for the fans. Never fall in love with your idols.
Other than Eripiyo, there are some other fans who support other member of the same underground group which include Kumasa and Motoi. Every fan is crazy about one specific idol from the group and they support them in their own way and that’s what makes Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu even more intriguing. It’s fascinating to watch them cheer for their respective idol.
It’s not easy to get the limelight for an underground idol group particularly for those groups who do not have much media coverage and are not famous like the other mainstream idol groups. ChamJam performs passionately with their singing, dancing and everything that will make audience cheers for them, but that’s not enough to when it comes to earn money out of it as they also have to pay the bills, need a place to live and food to eat so they can only look up to their fanbase to support them by attending their events, purchasing their CDs and merchandise. The culture of supporting the idols we see in this anime may not apply all over the world but it is very common in Japan like selling limited edition of merchandise with print, photos and some items for those who are interested.
Oshi ga Budoukan Ittekuretara Shinu is different with the story that you may have never seen before. Of course there are some anime that have portrayed some crazy fans like Perfect blue but we didn’t get to see them closely, how they actually support thee idols and spend their time and money on them. How they manage to save this money just to buy all the stuff. Eripiyo, Kumasa and Motoi are those kind of fans who are devoted to them on an extreme level. No matter how tough it is, they will always support them.
