New Details Unveiled for Nina the Starry Bride Anime

The official website for the anime adaptation of Rikachi’s Nina the Starry Bride (Hoshifuru Ōkoku no Nina) manga has released new information about the cast, crew, and the show’s premiere date. On Wednesday, the site shared its first promotional video, which includes snippets of the opening song “nina” by Maaya Sakamoto and the ending theme “Hoshi no Dengon” (Messages From the Stars) by Nao Tōyama.

The promotional video also showcases the key visual for the anime:

The latest additions to the cast include Nao Tōyama as Muhulum and Tatsuya Tomizawa as Dytus.

The series is directed by Kenichirō Komaya, known for his work on Kizuna no Allele, at Signal.MD. Yuka Yamada, who worked on Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence, is handling the series composition and screenplay. Kyoko Taketani, recognized for Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs, is designing the characters, and Natsumi Tabuchi, famous for My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, is composing the music.

About the Manga

Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga digitally and plans to release the second compiled book volume physically on December 26. According to Kodansha USA:

Nina had a difficult early life, resorting to theft to survive, and was eventually sold into slavery by her brother. Surprisingly, her captor, Prince Azure, decided she would live as a princess, taking the place of the recently deceased princess-priestess, Alisha. Despite her new life, Nina remains determined to hold onto her past. She finds herself conflicted as she navigates her feelings for Azure while knowing she is destined to marry another.

Rikachi started the manga in Kodansha’s Be Love magazine in October 2019. Kodansha released the 12th compiled book volume on December 13. The manga won the Best Shōjo Manga award in the 46th annual Manga Awards.
