Mushoku Tensei Season 2 – Release Date – Expectations

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 will premiere in July 2023 as part of the summer anime season. Nevertheless, the conclusion of season 1 of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation left viewers disappointed. As Eris’ letter did not fully explain her actual intentions, it eventually broke Rudeus’ heart and caused him to become melancholy. As things stand, viewers are eager to see what will happen in season 2.

However, there have recently been heated discussions over Mushoku Tensei season 2. After the premiere of the new promotional trailer for Mushoku Tensei Season 2 in Anime Japan 2033, anime fans are speculating that the series’ second season will be a colossal flop.

Mushoku Tensei Season 2

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 to be flop

The first season of Mushoku Tensei received 8.37 out of 10 on MyAnimeList and 8.4 on IMDb. However, Anime Japan already published a teaser video for the eagerly awaited Mushoku Tensei season 2 in March 2023. There have been problems with the upcoming season and heated discussions since the trailer’s release.

The second season of Mushoku Tensei is expected to be a complete failure, according to online fans’ predictions. Many have compared stills from the in-frame promotional video and asserted that the animation quality has declined since the introduction of the new director. Along with the director’s transition, the crew team also underwent a change, with some members moving to the Onimai anime.

Hiroki Hirano, who previously worked on the storyboard and served as an assistant director for the same anime in season 1, is in charge of directing season 2. He has also worked on numerous anime, including Sword Art Online: Alicization. However, some fans are also hesitant to see the upcoming season since they believe it will focus on the uninteresting aspects of Rudeus’ life.

Mushoku Tensei fans aren’t the only ones to blame for the issue; the Re: Zero fan base is also critical of Mushoku Tensei’s second season. Re: Zero fans started comparing the lengths of the two promo videos: the one for Mushoku Tensei season 2 is one minute and ten seconds, while the one for Re: Zero season 3 is two minutes and ten seconds. The quality of the animation and the directors were then compared by fans.

Due to the new director and the poor animation quality, many fans predict that the second season will be a complete failure; yet, others think it will be fantastic and will be watched.

Mushoku Tensei Second Season Expectations

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 will start with the seventh book of the light novel series. This is because the first two seasons of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation were based on volumes one through six. Rudeus will go to Rosenburg in the next season to try to find his mother, who is currently in the Labyrinth City of Rapan on the continent of Begaritt.

Rudeus’s sadness over Eris leaving him would also make it hard for him to pay attention to the job at hand. The first one will finally be able to go to Ranoa Magic Academy, which is also called the Magic University. After getting into Magic University, Rudeus will meet a lot of strange and interesting people on his next trip.

Final Thoughts

It is far too soon to form an opinion on the topic given that the second season of Mushoku Tensei is slated to be released in the near future. In spite of the controversy surrounding it, the anime has a good chance of being a smash hit during the summer anime season. Fans have time till then to watch the anime’s first season in order to get caught up.
