Lofty Flower, Fall for Me!! : Review

A loft flower is very attractive but inaccessible and in this story that flower is called Kurokawa. This supposedly inaccessible exquisiteness has become the main focus of Shiraishi Kouta. He is not just handsome but also intelligent and is the most desirable single in the entire school. But when he get to know the beautiful girl, he discovers that elegance and thoughtfulness is probably not the flairs of a teen obsession.

We all have me or seen those boys who are God gifted in terms of talent and looks and Shiraishi is that guy. But he is not egotistical or snobbish. He is a good guy. He never lose his patience when it come to understand Kurokawa’s oddities. Soon we also realize why that flower is so inaccessible, she is strange. Kurokawa doesn’t seem to understand the fundamentals of teenage dating that makes her character complicated and unobtainable. At some point the story seems like My Fair Lady where Eliza keeps getting few steps ahead of Henry Higgin which makes it even more funny and unpredictable for the readers.

The character traits are quite unusual for a romantic story where the traits of the female protagonist are mostly acquired by the male protagonist. He is cute and we often see him being caught by Kurokawa after falling like a princess falling in the arms of her prince. Although he looks manly and daring but when it comes to startle him, it can be done very easily.

The art style is very flexible. It doesn’t just stick to one style and we can see some multiple style like shonen or some sharp and sometime soft visuals where needed making it look like shoujo manga. We also get to see chibi style that explains the mood of the scene and make you actually feel it.

The manga is quite quick paced. Everything happens quickly and you have to adjust yourself to its pace or you might end up being disappointed. The longest arc last for only 4 pages with 12 panels and that is the maximum panel in an arc. The scenario, jokes, repetition, action, everything will make you turn the pages quickly.

The character development is not what you should expect in this manga since the character remains same through the manga where Kurokawa stays weird throughout the series and Shiraishi like always ends up stunned by the unattainable flower’s capacity of turning the table on him.
