Junji’s Ito’s horror manga Uzumaki will be getting its own anime adaptation. It was recently announced by Junhi Ito panel at Crunchyroll Expo. Anime will be directed by Hiroshi Nagahama, director of Mushi-shi at production I.G and music will be composed by Collin Stetson. The anime will be released in the United States before Japan by Adult Swim’s Toonami block.
The 90’s horror manga revolved around occurrence of disturbing spiral shapes in a town, haunting all its inhabitants. Three manga volumes were released from 2007-2008 by Viz. This manga had also inspired a live horror-action movie in 2002.
