On Monday it was disclosed by the August issue of Akita Shoten’s Mystery Bonita magazine that on August 6 the manga Mirage of Blaze by Mizuna Kuwabara and Shoko Hamada is going to have a new manga named Honō no Mirage R in the magazine’s next issue. The new manga is being illustrated by the illustrator of the original novel series and the illustrator of the manga version.
Recently the television anime version of the manga was set out by Media Blasters in English and it explains the story in the following manner:
Takaya Oogi is a road shrewd secondary school understudy, devoted to ensuring his closest companion Yuzuru Narita. The two are enveloped with an antiquated war of obscurity and catastrophe, started during Japan’s riotous Warring States Period. The mystic forces of sometime in the past find new life in the hearts of Takaya and Yuzuru, however rival clansmen try to annihilate them.
From 1990 to 2004 40 volumes of the original novel series was issued by Kuwabara with the art done by Hamada. From 1994 to 1997 the manga version by Hamada was in succession in the Hakusensha’s Serie Mystery magazine with four volumes. In 2002 a television anime was made and in 2004 an OVA Mirage of Blaze: Rebels of the River Edge was made based on the manga. Both the TV anime and OVA was set out by Media Blasters on DVD.
