In 2-Day Screenings Film Tokyo Godfathers Earns US$231,758 in U.S.

It is being listed by the Box Office Mojo website that the two day screening by GKIDS and Fathom Events of the movie Tokyo Godfathers by Satoshi Kon generated US$231,758. On March 9 the movie generated US$131,297 and on March 11 it generated US$100,461.

On March 9 the 4K restoration of the movie screened in the United States with English captions and on March 11 with new English dubbed version.

In November 2003 the movie was debuted in Japan. In December of that year the movie was released by Columbia Tristar in the United States. In 2004 the movie was set out by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in North America.

The story of the movie is being explained by GKIDS in following manner:

In advanced Tokyo, three vagrants’ lives are changed perpetually when they find a child young lady at a landfill on Christmas Eve. As the New Year quick methodologies, these three overlooked citizenry unite as one to settle the secret of the relinquished kid and the destiny of her folks. On January 8 it was declared by KON’STONE that a stage play is being made based by the Tokyo Godfathers and in May 2021 it will start its succession at the New National Cinema Tokyo.

In March 2019 a remaster of the anime movie Perfect Blue by Kon was set out by GKIDS and Shout! Factory on a Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack. In September 2018 for two days the movie was screened in 500 U.S cinemas. The screenings generated US$420,881 at the box office.
