For Special 1-Shot Manga Kochikame Returns to Shonen Jump


On Monday it was disclosed by the second 2020 issue of Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine that on December 16 the third issue of the magazine will be issued a special one shot chapter of manga Kochikame by Osamu Akimoto.

In November Akimoto was awarded with the 2019 Medal with Purple Ribbon honor and this special chapter is made to celebrate it. The medal was given to those people who add something to the academic and artistic area for its progress, modification, and success.

In 1976 the police hilarious based manga Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo was commenced by Akimoto and after 40 years of consecutive in September 2016 the series was concluded. This manga was the longest-running manga series in the Weekly Shonen Jump’s magazine.

Till June 2016 when the 199th volume of the manga was dispatched it had around 150 million copies in print form. Anime series, anime movies, anime specials, live action movies, a live action series, and manga stage plays were made based by the manga. Four new manga was commenced by Akimoto after Kochikame was concluded.

In September 2017 recently a new chapter of Kochikame was issued in Weekly Shonen Jump by Akimoto.
