Demon Slayer

Tanjiro and Nezuko are charming, they are best thing about this anime. It’s not just because Tanjiro respects and cares about the feelings of demon and their pain, or Nezuko is asleep in her box looking like a cute kitten most of the time but it’s the bond they share. When it comes to protect each other, the power of the bond gives them strength to overcome any fight, and that’s why we want them to succeed in their journey.

Demons are overly strong and they can’t be killed easily even if there are chopped off their body. On the other hand demon slayers are not weak either, they have super human strength and speed, and this is where ufotable shines the brightest when animating the fights and abilities of the characters. Whether it’s the demons or the elemental effects from the swords, every fight sequence is incredible that wouldn’t let us take our eyes off of our screen.

Aside from demons, the anime is filled with magic and different kinds of apparition, making it substantial. And not to mention the backstory of every demon, since demons were formerly humans, each suffered a lot of pain during or after becoming a demon which makes our hero Tanjiro feel sorry for them and respect their feelings, which makes the fight more intriguing as we can’t help but wish for a cure.

Kimetsu no Yaiba revolves around demons who eats human to survive, so expect a lot of moments where you will see human body parts with a lot of blood. It doesn’t matter if their target is human woman or a child they don’t care when it comes to fulfilling their hunger. While the gore is rated PG-13, but some people may feel it should be rated above.

If you are one of those people who are interested in watching Kimetsu no Yaiba just because you find Nezuko adorable in fanarts or even her action in the anime opening theme, then you will feel disappointed. While she is a main character of the entire plot and have some breathtaking scenes, but still due to the threat of sun and starvation, she eliminates her hunger and injuries while sleeping in her box. So if she is the sole purpose of watching the series then you won’t find the show much entertaining.

The story is unfinished, because the manga is in continuation and Tanjiro has a long way to go to find a cure for our beloved Nezuko. So expect the adventure to be continued after the anime finishes. However, the anime literally ends where Tanjiro and his friends are on a train full of demons and Muzan kills most of his followers who are not powerful except one who is traveling on the same train our heroes are traveling. If you are one of those viewers who dislike open endings then you should probably wait for the second season and the movie before watching this.

Demon Slayer

Kimetus no Yaiba is the most popular anime of the summer season due to multiple positive reasons. The animation is compelling and since ufotable is involved then you should expect some great combats, the music is catchy and mesmerizing, and the character developments along with design is simply we can’t stop loving. It is highly recommended if you haven’t watched it yet, especially if you enjoy learning about Japanese lore.
