Chiaki Stars in Laid-Back Camp Anime Season 3, New Visuals Revealed


The beloved Laid-Back Camp series is gearing up for its third season, and excitement is building as the franchise’s official website unveiled the latest main visual for Yurukyan△ Season 3 on Thursday. This fresh artwork, alongside a newly released character visual, spotlights the vibrant Chiaki Ōgaki, brought to life by the vocal talents of Sayuri Hara.

Fans can circle April 2024 on their calendars as the month the highly anticipated season makes its debut. With a switch in the animation production from C-Station to 8-Bit, the upcoming season boasts fresh talent behind the scenes. Shin Tosaka takes the helm as director, known for his work on Infinite Stratos 2, while Masafumi Sugiura of Uma Musume Pretty Derby fame will oversee series composition. Hisanori Hashimoto steps in with his experience from Attack on Titan and Guilty Crown as the new character designer. The show also welcomes the return of Akiyuki Tateyama as the composer, along with Takeshi Takadera reprising his role as the sound director. Musical unit Kiminone will provide the opening theme song, ensuring a melodic start to each episode, and Asaka is set to conclude each adventure with her return performance of the ending theme song.

In Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine, Afro debuted the Laid-Back Camp manga back in 2015, eventually transitioning the series to the Houbunsha’s Comic Fuz website in 2019. The English-speaking audience got a taste of the manga when Yen Press started its release in March 2018.

The original manga carved its path into the anime world with a January 2018 premiere and quickly captured the hearts of fans, with Crunchyroll streaming the 12-episode run. They didn’t stop there—Crunchyroll also catered to English-speaking audiences with a dubbed version. The saga continued with the second season’s release in January 2021.

The adventures from the page then made their leap onto the big screen, with the anime film opening in July 2022. Crunchyroll kept up with demand, streaming the film in November 2022 for anime enthusiasts worldwide.

The Laid-Back Camp manga also inspired its adaptation into the live-action realm with a television series that premiered in January 2019, becoming yet another avenue for fans to indulge in the outdoor escapades of the series.

Expanding beyond the screen, Laid-Back Camp charmed its way into the gaming world. MAGES’ rolled out the video game ‘Yurucamp Have a Nice Day!’ for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in November 2022. Additionally, the virtual reality landscape welcomed the Laid-Back Camp series with the releases of ‘Virtual – Lake Motosu’ in March 2021 and ‘Virtual – Fumoto Campsite’ in April 2022, courtesy of Gemdrops.

A global gaming audience was treated to ‘Laid-Back Camp All-in-one!!’, the franchise’s first smartphone game, which released in June and offered yet another immersive experience for its global fan base.
