Astra Lost in Space Episode 9 Review

Episode 9 of Astra Lost in Space marks as the episode of the most shocking revelation. Zack proves that all of them are clones with the Proof of Yunhua having the same voice as her mother; Zack being a copy of his father, less sociopath obviously while Kanata’s father directly states that
Kanata is a clone. The crew is just a man-made fake version of their natural human bodies so that their creators can prolong their life. And once the bizarre fact is revealed, everyone accepts the harsh truth because no one has any evidence to prove it wrong and thus the plot carries. However, Aries is the only one who is not a clone.

The reason of sending them in vacuum space to die is to prevent their ‘parents’ from going to jail. They are being punished for someone else’s mistake. Leaving them with only one motive, to return home and take revenge from the one who has raised them.

The second part is where they face the truth with not with emotions but with wisdom. They have come to realize what cause their parents to act in the way they did and they can move on.

The episode doesn’t end with a huge plot twist of clone but there is one more twist which is weirder than the clone twist. Can you guys remember the crew ever mentioning the word Earth? Planet Astra? They don’t even know where to go leaving them with a goal but no destiny.

Astra Lost in Space Episode 9 Review

Apart with an eerie plot twist of the episode, some of the highlights of the episode includes the poor Aries who has been drawn into something even more ominous. Hopefully we will get to see more to it as her mother has tried everything to get her back.

In such heart wrenching moment, Kanatha is a great leader who knows how to calm everyone in a despairing hopeless situation. All crew members are distinctive in their own way. Even if they are clones, it can’t be forgotten that they have been raised as individuals. This new space adventure has given them a family that will fill the void. It’s their ship, they belong to it and that’s what make them a family.

As far as planet earth is concerned, guess it is not the only planet with oceans, greenery and clouds.

Furthermore, Kanatha tries to strengthen his body which will not just make him strong not just physically but mentally as well so that he can achieve his dream of becoming a spaceship captain.

The episodes continued with different philosophies making Luca a philosopher of the episode. For instance, worrying about past and future increases the anxiety level and makes you miss all the good parts of the present that you could enjoy. This latest episode has also left us to wonder about clones as a person and an individual. The more we learn about genetics, more we get to know about human body and how human works. It argues that our behavior is more influenced by our environment rather than genes. Two identical clones can be completely different if they have been raised separately making them completely different person.

Hopefully justice will prevail in this anime and we will get to see them taking revenge unveil the whole truth.
