Shin Chuuka Ichiban! which is the sequel of 1997 anime Chuuka Ichiban! released in 2019 and now the anime has confirmed the release of Season 2 in 2021.
The announcement has been made with the revelation of a new visual that features protagonist Mao in the center and the Gokosei or Five Tiger Stars who are the best cooks in the The Underground Cooking Society and are united to triumph over the world of cooking with their exceptional skills.
Season 1 of Shin Chuuka Ichiban! was set in 19th Century in China. The main character Maoxin Ryuu passed the Guangzhou Special Chef Trials and was the youngest candidate to pass the trial. He was recommended by his teacher to enhance his skills and travel to the southwestern China. After completing his journey, he plans to follow his mother footsteps by fighting The Underground Cooking Society and so his adventure begins with protecting the eight cooking treasures from the The Underground Cooking Society alongside his friends.
