It has been recently announced that the light novel ‘Kyuukyoku Shinka Shita Full Dive RPG ga Genjitsu yori mo Kusoge Dattara’ (What If the Ultimately Evolved Full Dive RPG was a Crappier Game than Reality) is set to receive anime adaptation in spring 2021.
The series will animated by Studio ENGI and will be directed by Kazuya Miura, who has previously worked for Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! Kenya Ihara will be handling the series composition who has previously worked for Shachou, Battle no Jikan Desu! While character design will be handled by Yuuta Kevin Kenmotsu who has worked in Sword Art Online: Alicization.
The cast has also been introduced which include Hiro Yuuki, voiced by Daiki Yamashitawho has previously worked in My Hero Academia, Reona Kisaragi; voiced by Ayana Taketatsu has previously worked in The Quintessential Quintuplets; Alici, voiced by Ai Fairouz has previously worked in Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru?; Mizarisa, voiced by Shiori Izawa has previously worked in The Asterisk War; Kaede Yuuki, voiced by Aoi Koga has previously worked in Kaguya-sama, Love is War; and Martin, voiced by Haruki Ishiya has previously worked in Akiba’s Trip The Animation
The story revolves around High School Student Hiro Yuuki who gets his hands on a full-dive RPG that “takes reality to the extremes”. It gives off a realistic feeling and atmosphere and is very close to real-life stats as the injury or damage would take as long time to heal as it takes in real world. Therefore, Yuki embarks on a journey to conquer a game that makes the real-life look very easy.
The first volume of the light novel was released by Kadokawa in August, while the second volume will be published this month
