Due to COVID-19 Concerns Movie Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Delayed (Updated)

On Friday it was declared by the authorized website of the franchise Neon Genesis Evangelion that the new movie of Evangelion by Studio Khara named Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 is going to be postponed because of the consequences by the spread of the new corona virus disease (COVID-19) inside and outside of Japan. It was planned that on June 27 the movie was going to be released. A new set out date has not been disclosed by the crew members.

A new visual was also disclosed by the website which includes a new slogan and a complete English title: Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time.

Last July the primary 10 minutes and 40 seconds of the movie was premiered by Studio Khara. The video was screened at the Yoko Takahashi x Evangelion Stage presentation by the Japan Expo event in Paris. At Anime Expo in Los Angeles the video was also screened, after the screening of the Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, and it was also screened in Shanghai during an Evangelion event in Jing’an District. Also the video was screened in Japan in six different locations.

In March 2019 it was declared by Studio Khara that the dialogue recording has been started for the movie Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 and in February it was declared by the voice over artist Megumi Ogata that the dialogue recording of the movie was all but completed.

In 2007, 2009, and 2012 the primary three movies Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance, and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can of the tetralogy was premiered correspondingly.

Last June the original television anime Neon Genesis Evangelion was started to be telecast by Netflix as well as the movies Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth and Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion.
