Last Friday it was declared by the Hong Kong movie distributor Neofilms that in March it is going to release the anime movie version of novel Bokura no Nanokakan Sensō by Osamu Sōda in Hong Kong.
On December 13 the movie was released in Japan. In its starting week it was released outside of the top 10 ranking and got the 11th position.

From the original 1988 live action movie actress Rie Miyazawa came back to play the character Hitomi Nakayama which is the same character she played in the movie of 1988 which was her major introduction role.
The riddle story and social parody starts on the day preceding summer excursion, when each kid in a first-year class of a midtown Tokyo center school vanishes. Was it some mishap? A mass grabbing? As a matter of fact, the young men holed themselves up in a relinquished plant on the riverbed. With help from the students, the young men start a transformation against the grown-ups from this freedom zone. The new anime movie moves the settings to Hokkaido in the year 2020.
The movie was directed at Ajia-do by Yūta Murano. The script of the movie was written by Ichiro Okouchi. The original concept of the characters was designed by Keishin and then those designs were used by Hiroshi Shimizu for animation. The theme song called Kessen Zenya was presented by Sano ibuki.
In 1985 the novel was issued by Kadokawa Shoten. In 1988 a live action movie was made based on the novel starring Rie Miyazawa. A series of print follow ups and sequels were produced based by the novel that has vended over 170 million copies and also added new volumes as earlier as previous year.
Last April a manga version of the novel was commenced in the Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Gene magazine by Aoko Sasaki and last Julyit was concluded. Last August a new manga inspired by the movie was commenced in the in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Gene by Sasaki and on December 13 it was concluded.
