This episode was great and on top of that it was sweet and cute. This episode ended with excitement leaving us all curious about next episode.
The episode can be divided into two parts where the second half was the continuation of the first one. The first part was dedicated to Confession Tree and one can guess what possibly it can be. It’s a tree where couples gather as they have confessed their love to each other. Yashiro and Aoi notices the number of classmates who are in love with each other out of blue. And this makes Yashiro recall the kiss of Hanako happened earlier. Between all these discussions Yashiro realizes that Hanako is in love with her. It quite obvious with the kind of things he said to her and how he behaves in front of her. Aoi also thinks the same when Yashiro talked about him. It found it funny when Yashiro kept repeating that Hanako is not her type but she seemed to be wondering about that. Her heart started to pump hard when Hanako requests her to see him at the confession tree. Yashiro was not at fault when she came to conclusion as everything was indicating that he feels something for her and although she feels and keeps saying that he is not her type, she wanted to hear the confession from him. Turns out that confession was not true and wanted to be rejected by Yashiro in order to call upon the kodama as he took this matter to a whole new level (the boy couple was hilarious). He deals with the situation smoothly and the tree becomes small, things end up fine.
Poor Yashiro was looking forward to a true confession and she was heartbroken after fake confession and ends up crying. It felt good to see Hanako receiving those slaps and punches as that jerk deserves it. His non serious attitude was a little too much this time and he took things to another level and while he was playing around with her, he didn’t think that it’s not hard to seduce Yashiro. However, it’s good that he felt sorry and realized he had done something wrong and he genuinely apologized to her for his misdeed and also felt sad what he did. He hugs her to calm her and didn’t leave her until she stopped sobbing. It was a very nice moment. This moment also marks some significance as Yashiro wondered about Hanako who she calls a friend but has no idea who he is, his complete name and what caused his death. She wants to know him better.
Afterwards, starts the second part of the episode and a new surprise. It was hilarious how Yashiro decided to a test of compatibility between Hanako and Kou for certain reason. Initially it felt amusing and hilarious but things started to get serious when Minamoto shows up and express his gratitude towards to Yashiro for taking care of his younger brother. Now that we know that kou is his brother, it’s possible that he is also an exorcist. At first it seemed like Kou was about to realize his feeling or Hanako but Minamato can be a big hurdle as his antagonistic character indicates so it is evident that we might have to deal with brother issues here. Poor Kou is forced to hurt Hanako and there is so much pressure that he can’t handle but at the same time he also wants to resist. There hasn’t been much focus on Kou so it would be good if we get to see some more scenes between him and his brother so we get a better grip of their relationship. As far as the new school surprise goes, Yashiro goes to library to find something regarding Hanako but there was nothing new she could find. It was the all the same things, she already knows. A girl with green hair appears and tells her to look for 5th wonder if she seeks information about him. Yashiro inquires about 5th wonder to Aoi.
The 4 o’ clock Library seems to be fascinating as it contains books that could tell people’s future and past not just the living ones but the dead ones too. The books with the balack color code are about the dead individuals. Now that she know about this amazing library and the books, Yashiro is certain that she will find all about Hanako as it may also have Hanako’s book. However, the appearance of Hanako at the end was quit gloomy and different. He had a dark charm on his face in place of white one and his overall personality looked quite evil and dark. Is it possible that there are two Hanako with two different personalities or does he have dual personality? We can also judge that from the opening theme. Probably this Hanako has some link with the murder. This is getting thrilling.
This episode was fascinating and enjoyable. I loved it. I want Yashiro and Hanako to end up with each other so the scene at the Confession Tree was fascinating for me and I enjoyed the first half more than the other one. But, like Yashiro I’m too curious to know more about Hanako. The Library sounds awesome and interesting. This episode also had a cliffhanger and it left us wonder about Hanako more than ever. It’s going to be new arc. I like the character of Hanako and he is getting more interesting and I still ship Yashiro and Hanako and want to see how their relationship develops.
