On Saturday it was declared by the team of anime movie named Eiga Sumikko Gurashi: Tobidasu Ehon to Himitsu no Ko of the characters of Sumikko Gurashi by San-X that this spring the movie will be released in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Till February 4, Tuesday the movie vended an aggregate of 1.2 million tickets and generated 1.4 billion yen at the box office in Japan.
On November 8 the anime movie was released in Japan in 114 cinemas and got the 3rd position in its starting week. Over the week the movie vended 104,000 tickets and generated 121 million yen, but from Friday to Sunday that week the movie vended 114,280 tickets and generated 132,873,500 yen.
The movie was directed at Fanworks by Mankyū. The script was written by Takashi Sumita. The director of art was Kaori Hino.
The story of the movie starts when the Sumikko Gurashi characters locate a puzzling picture book in the cellar of a bistro they generally go to. The film includes new districts, things, and characters.
Sumikko Gurashi appeared in 2012 as somewhat negative characters who like to remain toward the edge of a room. The characters incorporate Shirokuma, a polar bear who is touchy to cold; “Penguin?” , a penguin who is uncertain on the off chance that it is really a penguin; “Tonkatsu,” a bit of pork cutlet that was left uneaten; “Neko,” a modest feline; and “Tokage,” who conceals his tendency as one of the last dinosaurs.
Many toys, books, stationary things, and video games have been developed based on the franchise.
Last April the anime Rilakkuma and Kaoru was premiered worldwide based on the character Rilakkuma by San-X.
