2nd & 3rd Bath House PR Anime for Osamu Tezuka’s Phoenix


On Friday it was declared by the Dogo Onsen underground aquifer bath house coordinated effort anime with Osamu Tezuka’s Phoenix that it will get a second and third episode booked for 2020. The anime is a piece of a rejuvenation venture for the Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture shower house that started on January 15. It was reported that the humorist Itsuji Itao will join the cast for the subsequent episode.

The subsequent episode which is planned for February 1, 2020 revolves around the Meiji period. The story will pursue abstract figures Masaoka Shiki and Natsume Sōseki’s visit to the bath house after its repair. The third episode planned for mid-2020 will revolve around the present day and future. The story pursues the individuals who have looked out for the shower house since the period of divine beings going through time to the present day.

For providing voice to the character of the so called Phoenix Nana Mizuki is coming back. Itsuji Itao is the voice over artist of the character called Ippen Shōnin who is a priest who started the Ji-shū division of Pure Land Buddhism. Other new cast members are Masaoka Shiki by Jun Fukuyama, Natsume Sōseki by Shinnosuke Tachibana, and Madonna by Tomochika.

In May the introduction and primary episode was telecast. The introduction showed two spiritual gods named Ōoku Ninushi whose voice over artist is Takeshi Tsuruno and Sukuna Hikona whose voice over artist is Suzuko Mori they witness a phoenix by Nana Mizuki and they also realize the warm spring. The primary episode showed the Prince Shōtoku from the Asuka era who is strained due to his regal duties and he is calming in the warm spring.

Tezuka Productions is credited for producing the anime. Fumihiro Yoshimura was credited for direction and storyboarding. The screenplay was supervised by Shoichiro Masumoto and Taisuke Nishimura. Shinji Seya was the designer of characters and main animation director. The music composition was done by Yuuji Nomi.

From 1978 to 1987 many anime movies and OVA versions were made based on the manga and each of them adapts a special story in the manga. In 2004 an anime series was also made based on the manga.
