Spring 2020 our stressful days exciting with man entertaining anime which include Crunchyroll Originals, WEBTOON anime adaptation, sequels of some popular anime, and anime on a particular subject like Kakushigoto which we will be discussing in this article. Kakushigoto, which literally means secrecy, is a story which mainly focus on relationship especially relationship between a parent and child. The series has not ended yet but has reached to the significant point of the plot and becoming more and more interesting with every episode. We have pick 6 anime like Kakushigoto that are focused on the similar themes which include profession, secrets and family relations.

Eromanga-sensei
Izumi has two siblings but they both are her step siblings. Their parents got married a year ago but unfortunately their parents die soon after this event. Sagiri is devasted with and shut herself in the darkness of her room and isolate herself from the outer world including her siblings. After the demise of their parents, Masamune is the only breadwinner of the family and earns well through his successful profession of writing light novels. But he never get to meet the illustrator of his novel who is referred as Eromanga-sensie and is famous for her lustiest illustrations. The strange truth is later revealed that Eromanga-sensie is his younger sister. This reality brings some new challenges in the relationship of the young siblings who deal with the hardships of life while having a successful career.
Eromanga-sensei shares many similarities with Eromanga-sensei which include keeping secrets from the family and the relationship among them. The characters of both anime work in an artistical field which include writing and illustration where Kakushigoto shows manga industry and Eromanga-sensei shows the industry of light novels. The theme of keeping secrets is common in both anime where the main characters have hidden identity in their respective profession that they do not want to expose due to its obscene nature.

The Comic Artist and His Assistants
He story of The Comic Artist and His Assistants revolves around a perverted mangaka who has no idea about the emotions of the characters he add in his stories and on top of that his editor keeps pressurizing him. He loves to illustrate pictures of women underwear. He has an assistant, Ashisu Sahoto. Since he has never dated women, his assistant often helps him with the references being a woman herself but it becomes a little awkward for her as it’s all for just a manga.
Both Kakushigoto and Mangaka-san to Assistant are about the occupation of manga and the main character is mangaka of erotic manga. The erotic content of the manga created by the main character is what makes both series similar to each other.

Mangirl!
It’s the story about a group of four girls who want to start a manga magazine that could become the most successful magazine in Japan. Despite of having no experience in the field of editing manga magazine, the four girls which include Hana, the super energetic editor-in-chief of operations, Aki, editor in chief, Tsugumi and Ringo as editorial staff are determined to make Monthly Comic Earth Star the best manga magazine of Japan.
Similar to Kakushigoto, Mangirl focused on the occupation related to manga. However, the main character of Kakushigoto is a successful mangaka while the girls in Mangirl are dreamers and struggle to become successful in the field. Both the series are comedy and have the element of cuteness.
Bunny Drop
Kawachi Daikichi is a 30 years old single man who earns well enough to provide for himself and keeps himself busy in his daily routine. His life changes when his grandfather dies and whe he visits home, he finds out an illegitimate little girl who was being raised by his grandfather. The family refused to take in that child as she is nothing but a disgrace to their family. Daikichi does not like this behavior of his family and take her in even though he has no idea about raising a child.
Unlike the above-mentioned anime, the similarity between Bunny Drop and Kakushigoto is the concept of father-daughter relation. However, Kakushigoto does not only focus on the relationship between the parent and the child but the affect on the relation because of a secret, while Bunny Drop is merely focused on the development of relationship between adoptive father and daughter.

Sweetness and Lightning
Inuzuka Kouhei is a single parent and a high school teacher who recently became a widow. Being a single parent is not easy since he has to keep balance between his work and his daughter. They have been feeding on the ready-made food from convenience store since he can’t cook and have not much time to have a meal with her properly. But when his daughter, complains about not having dinner for a longer time, Kouhei feels sad and annoyed by himself for nor being able to feed her a good and healthy meal. One day a student in his high school, named Iida Kotori invites him with his daughter to the restaurant owned by her mother. But when they visit the restaurant, they find out that her mother is usually not away for work. Kotori requests Kouhei to visit her restaurant more often so that they can make enjoy homemade food together.
The importance of relationship and the slice of life element is what makes Sweetness and Lightning similar to Kakushigoto. However, in Kakushigoto, the father has the secret to keep inorder maintain the relationship he has with his daughter, while Kouhei in Sweetness and Lightning struggles be a good parent and to is daughter after the death of his wife and sometimes that element can also be seen in Kakushigoto.

My Sister, My Writer
Nagami Yuu aspires to be successful light novel writer and keeps participating in writing competitions but could never won any competition. But he never lost his determination and encouraged him to improve his writing skills. After losing the latest competition, he goes through the names of the winner and the name that catches his attention was Towano Chikai who had distinctive score compared to others. Towano turns out to be his sister Suzuka who doesn’t want to expose her real identity so she asks Yuu to replace her as Towano. He agrees to it nad tries to cope with this strange situation until he accomplish to release his own book
My Sister, My Writer features a particular creative profession like Kakushigoto. The thee of keeping a secret from a blood relative is another significant similarity that can be seen in both anime. Although, the profession is a little different as Kakushigoto is about mangaka whereas, My Sister, My Writer features light novelists.

Kakushigoto has not ended yet and has reached to a very interesting point of the plot. The anime is compelling not just because of the intriguing story but the visuals are also eye-catching.
